History of All Saints'
We were founded in 1947 as a Parish Day School for the adjacent church. From the beginning, All Saints' enjoyed status as a school that provided superior academics, along with a spiritual program that reflected the community's family-oriented environment. That need and philosophy have remained constant over the years. It has deepened and strengthened over time. As the population around the school has become increasingly diverse: racially, culturally and religiously, we see this as an opportunity to share our strengths with the community.
Christian Values
Even though we are a Christian school, our families come here for many reasons. They bring with them a variety of religious backgrounds and traditions. We welcome all who have the desire to have their children instructed in citizenship, civic responsibility and personal accountability, to be a part of our family.
We teach religion once a week with our parish priest. Classes use the Bible as a starting point to talk about what is important to them. Whether children are five or thirteen, they all have questions about God, the meaning of life and their place in the world.
A Safe Harbor for Happy, Healthy Children
As we focus on your child's development, we offer a nurturing yet structured atmosphere, with the freedom to grow and be creative. Rules and discipline are designed so your child is a partner in both the rewards and consequences of their actions. This leads to self-confidence, good decision-making and accountability as they mature.
Today's schools often are so large and transient that the teacher is lucky to know even the students in their own classes. At All Saints' our teachers know each child in the school. Our retention rate is high, with most families staying for five or more years. This allows for relationships to build and children to feel secure and grounded in their environment.
The pace of our society is often reflected through our children by social and peer pressure to grow-up and participate in high-risk activities and behaviors. Although it's not possible to remove these entirely, our school is free of alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, guns, sex, and violence. Our children show the capacity to be kind to one another, thoughtful, resourceful, and engage in healthy lifestyles. Our small environment makes negative behavior easily apparent and quickly addressed.
Community is a common theme, as we engage in educational field trips, Spirit Week, school plays, the Christmas Pageant, Spaghetti Dinners, class parties, and all the events throughout the year.
