Pizza Monday Schedule
These optional lunches are provided on alternate Mondays. NOTE: Because of various holidays, they are not necessarily every other Monday. Check the school calendar for specific dates.
Sign-up is by trimester or by school year. Changes may be made only between semesters, not weekly. No credits or refunds for absences, funds are retained in the pizza lunch account to help defray costs. Please check with the school office for the sign-up sheet and current pricing.
They are served in two portion sizes:
- Regular - One slice of cheese or pepperoni, salad, milk or juice, and dessert
- Hearty - Two slices of cheese or pepperoni, salad, milk or juice, and dessert
Hot Lunch
A hot lunch is available on Wednesdays. All lunches include a choice of beverage - low fat milk, apple juice or lemonade. Fresh fruit is always available. Seconds on entrees (for those who have not paid for “Hearty” lunches), milk and desserts - when available - may be purchased for 25¢. Seconds on entrees are available only to those who have already purchased a lunch. Parents who are available for 2-3 hours midday are encouraged to volunteer to help out. Not only does it support our basic premise of parental involvement, it's a wonderful way to experience a small part of the school day with your child.
Portions
- Regular - One entree serving, salad, fruit, milk or juice, and dessert
- Hearty - Two entree servings, salad, fruit, milk or juice, and dessert
Signups
Students taking part in Hot Lunch sign up in advance using one of two options: by the trimester or for the entire year. There is no opportunity to sign up for specific meals. It’s "all or nothing." Parents who are concerned that their student might not like a particular entrée are encouraged to send a sandwich or carton of yogurt to supplement the menu items the student is likely to eat. Very often children who will not eat a food at home will try it (and like it!) at school because their friends eat it.
Special diets: It is possible that simple menu modifications can be made to accommodate students with special dietary needs, e.g. food allergies, vegetarian. Parents of these students should contact Mrs. Landt, Hot Lunch Coordinator, at 298-1671, to discuss the feasibility of meeting their child’s needs.
THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR ABSENCES. FUNDS WILL BE RETAINED IN THE HOT LUNCH ACCOUNT TO HELP DEFRAY COSTS.
